Casa La Sirena is located directly in the heart of Granada Nicaragua and makes a great starting point for exploring the oldest city in the Americas. Walk just a few feet to the corner and you'll find yourself on Calle La Calzada, Granada's main street where you'll be able to find restaurants, popular night spots, and eventually, Lake Cocibolca. Walk one street over and you'll find yourserlf in front of the beautiful cathedral and in the middle of Parque Central (Central Park) among many of the locals as they take a break from the heat. Here you'll find even more restaurants, arts and crafts vendors, and even horse drawn carriages. Walk just a little further and you'll be able to find even more attractions such as the ones listed below.

Convento San Francisco
This church is rich in history, being the oldest cathedral in the Americas. The church was burned and destroyed by William Walker in 1856 as he fled the city. The church has since been rebuilt and is now a museum and cultural center. Next to the church, you'll be able to enjoy Nicaraguan paintings, sculptures and large statues from the nearby island of Ometepe.

The Isletas of Granada
Just at the end of Granada's tourist center (located on Lake Cocibolca), you'll be able to find the Isletas. 365 islands rich in bird life and vegetation. The isletas were created by an eruption of nearby Volcan Mombacho long ago. Some of the islands boast of luxurious homes, restaurants and other attractions. For just a few cordobas, you'll be able to take a tour of the isletas, including lunch on one of the islands.

Volcano Mombacho
Outside of Granada, Volcano Mombacho is home to a variety of wildlife, flora and vegetation. The highest point measures 1,400 meters. The volcano provides lots of opportunities including, tours, hiking, canopy tours and breath-taking views of Granada and surrounding areas.

Volcano Masaya
A few miles outside of Granada, this volcano recently became active and has become a great night destination. The volcano provides amazing panoramic views, an interesting history and a museum.

Artisan Markets of Masaya
Masaya is home to many artisans as well as two major arts and crafts markets where you'll be able to find the perfect gift for family and friends back home.
